The Rough Draft is a neighborhood taproom in the heart of Windsor, just steps from the Town Green. The three of us owners first met while working together at the taproom that previously called this space home. When that chapter came to an end, we saw an opportunity to take a place we already loved, build on the community we had become a part of, and make it something truly our own.

From the beginning, we wanted The Rough Draft to feel like a second home. The kind of place where you can walk through the door, see a familiar face, and feel like you belong. Whether you're winding down after a long day, catching up with old friends, meeting someone new, or simply looking for a comfortable place to relax, we hope The Rough Draft feels like home.

Of course, we’re here for the beer and food too. We want to create a place where you can grab a great local craft beer, order something you actually feel good about eating, and settle in for a while. Our 20 taps are always rotating with a wide variety of styles from crisp lagers and pilsners, to IPAs, ciders, sours, and everything in between. We love showcasing breweries from Northern California, while occasionally bringing in something unexpected to keep things interesting.

For our food we focus on fresh ingredients, lighter options, and food that's satisfying without feeling like an afterthought. That means pizzas, hot sandwiches, wings, and other bar favorites, but also a few things you might not expect to find at a taproom. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or making an evening of it, we want the food to be just as much a part of the experience as what's in your glass.

More than anything, The Rough Draft is about bringing people together. It's about good beer, good food, familiar faces, new friends, and having a place in town where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
